Sustainable Living MD Film Series
We will be conducting a series of informal film showings and discussions this spring at Carroll Community College.
The free series will kick off with the showing of "The Power of Community" at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 22.

The documentary examines how Cubans survived a severe shortage of fossil fuels after the collapse of the Soviet Union, developing strategies to adapt to their own version of "peak oil."

There will be refreshments provided and a lively discussion of current energy issues after the film.

We also plan to show the film "No Impact Man" at 7 p.m. on April 19 in conjunction with Earth Day and community wide "Planet Carroll" activities that week.

Both films are free to the public and will be held in room K127 at the Community College.

Check back for the dates and rooms for the May and June films and disucssions.

The 2012 Go Local Fair
It is with mixed emotions that the Sustainable Living Maryland Board of Directors has decided to put the Go Local Fair on hiatus for 2012.

In four years, the annual fair has grown into a valuable community event, bringing together those interested in renewable energy, healthy living, agriculture and just plain making the world a better place. It has developed a devoted following of people genuinely interested in helping the
environment.

We hope we've offered visitors and volunteers the resources, information and inspiration they could take home and use in improving their lives and building a healthier community.

And we hope to continue toward those objectives by holding smaller, more frequent gatherings beginning early next year. Regular group discussions, movies showings, speakers and workshops will expand on topics that affect us all in our daily lives.

Stay tuned for more details on those community gatherings.

We thank everyone that participated, volunteered or visited the fair over the past four years and look forward to your continued connection with us as we move forward with new endeavors.
